Process Control Engineer

We are looking for a Process Control Engineer / technician who can support our software platform and installations at the University of Strathclyde Technology Innovation Centre.  

The role will involve the management and enhancement of Advanced Control and Monitoring solutions at the CMAC centre and also on customer sites in the UK.  

The EPRSC Centre for Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation (CMAC) are leaders in the field of continuous crystallisation and pharmaceutical manufacturing research.  You will be involved in developing and maintaining cutting-edge automation platforms for supporting the centre's research, as well as using your skills across a range of industrial applications.

Our engineers need good problem-solving skills, creativity, the ability to communicate well, and the ability to work well either as part of a team or alone.

All of our engineers get to experience and understand a wide variety of processes and enjoy developing new and innovative ways of implementing advanced control, as well as contributing to the continuous development of our PerceptiveAPC suite of software.

Candidates with experience in Nutritional or Pharmaceutical sectors would be of particular interest.  Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous: Process Analytical Techniques (PAT), Multivariate modelling or control, Chemometrics, control system design and integration.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Applicants should be degree qualified, with relevant education and experience in process or control engineering.
  • Fluency with Windows and MS Office is essential.
  • A background or experience in industrial computing such as PLC/ SCADA/ DCS/ HMI configuration.
  • First hand experience with PAT/Control system integration would be advantageous.
  • Our engineers need to be excellent problem solvers, with good communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work with clients primarily in Scotland or UK is required.
