Technical Sales Engineer

Perceptive Engineering Ltd is a world leader in the provision of intelligent monitoring and control systems to major industrial blue chip clients worldwide.  Markets served include Pharmaceutical, Nutritional Powders and Ingredients, Pulp and Paper and Water/Wastewater.

The Company is now seeking to increase the pace of expansion and is looking to recruit a passionate and driven technical sales engineer to help drive forward sales.

The successful candidate will work closely with the company MD and existing engineering teams to expand the business with existing clients, as well as seeking out new opportunities to expand our customer base.

UK and some International travel will be required but, ideally, the position will be based at our UK Offices at the prestigious Daresbury Sci-Tech Park in Cheshire.  A competitive performance-based package commensurate with experience will be offered.

The ideal candidate would have the following:

- A good honours degree in an engineering or mathematical-based subject with strong computer literacy and a good    working knowledge of Windows 365 and cloud-based technology.

- Several years post graduate industrial experience - preferably in Pharmaceuticals or Nutritionals - ideally with some  sales/ commercial experience.  Although this would be an advantage, we would seriously consider a strong technical  candidate with the personality, desire and drive to develop into this role.    

- An ability to listen and understand a customer’s problems and requirements, then match them to proposed solutions.

- Good persuasive skills both written and verbal are essential, with skill in professional relationship building.

- Drive and the will to succeed in a fast-growing team working environment will enable you to develop and succeed in  Perceptive Engineering.

Process Control Engineer

We are looking for a Process Control Engineer/technician who can support our software platform and installations at the University of Strathclyde Technology Innovation Centre.  

The role will involve the management and enhancement of Advanced Control and Monitoring solutions at the CMAC centre and also on customer sites in the UK.  

The EPRSC Centre for Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation (CMAC) are leaders in the field of continuous crystallisation and pharmaceutical manufacturing research.  You will be involved in developing and maintaining cutting-edge automation platforms for supporting the centre's research, as well as using your skills across a range of industrial applications.

Our engineers need good problem-solving skills, creativity, the ability to communicate well, and the ability to work well either as part of a team or alone.

All of our engineers get to experience and understand a wide variety of processes and enjoy developing new and innovative ways of implementing advanced control, as well as contributing to the continuous development of our PerceptiveAPC suite of software.

Candidates with experience in Nutritional or Pharmaceutical sectors would be of particular interest.  Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous: Process Analytical Techniques (PAT), Multivariate modelling or control, Chemometrics, control system design and integration.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Applicants should be degree qualified, with relevant education and experience in process or control engineering.
  • Fluency with Windows and MS Office is essential.
  • A background or experience in industrial computing such as PLC/ SCADA/ DCS/ HMI configuration.
  • First hand experience with PAT/Control system integration would be advantageous.
  • Our engineers need to be excellent problem solvers, with good communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work with clients primarily in Scotland or UK is required.

Business Development Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic Business Development Manager to seek out and develop new growth opportunities, with a particular emphasis on the pharmaceutical / nutraceutical / nutritional / ingredients markets. 

This is an office-based role, at the prestigious Daresbury Sci-Tech park in Cheshire, where you will join a team of talented, hard-working engineers. Your remit will be global, so a reasonable amount of UK and international travel will be required.

You will be used to finding and developing new clients, preparing and submitting detailed quotations, making presentations to clients and at industry conferences. You will be supported by our current BDM, the Managing Director and our experienced engineers and software developers.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • A proven track record of growth in consultative or solution sales, within a related industry.
  • Experience of, or contacts in, the pharmaceutical or nutraceutical markets is preferred.
  • An academic qualification that will enable you to understand a sophisticated engineering offer and communicate the advantages of that offer to all levels within the client's organisation.
  • Computer literacy, with a high level of fluency in Microsoft Office and Visio.
  • Demonstrable persuasion skills in written, oral and presentation formats.
